Landscape with Ruins (Capriccio with Ruins and Porta Portello, Padua) - Canaletto - Landscape Oil Painting
About This Piece
Landscape with Ruins (Capriccio with Ruins and Porta Portello, Padua) - Canaletto - Landscape Oil Painting suits both traditional and modern interiors. As a landscape oil painting, it works as a standalone focal point or as part of an entryway gallery wall, and unlike a print it is genuinely hand painted in oils.
About the Artwork
circa 1750-1759
Oil on canvas
Galleria dell Accademia, Venice, Italy.
The landscape subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of vintage oil painting wall decor.
100% Hand Painted on Canvas
From primer to varnish, the work is done manually on artist-grade canvas. The absence of digital printing is deliberate: it keeps the landscape brushwork visible and gives the vintage oil painting wall decor a museum-like finish.
