Naked Women on a Forest Meadow, 1928
Oil on canvas
121 x 100 cm
Private collection.
The artwork was created by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner in the year 1928, is a prime example of both Cubism and Expressionism art movements. This nude painting (nu) is currently housed in the Brücke Museum in Berlin, Germany.
In this captivating piece, two women are depicted in a meadow, characterized by the unique stylization and bright palette often associated with Kirchner’s work. Their bodies, composed of geometric and simplified forms, exhibit the influence of Cubism, while the emotive color scheme and dynamic postures reflect the Expressionist movement. The use of colors such as green, blue, and purple, along with bold, dark outlines, enhances the visual impact and emotive quality of the scene. The backdrop appears abstract, with jagged elements resembling trees or natural forms, adding to the surreal and otherworldly atmosphere of the artwork.
Collectors often choose this fine art image when searching for fine art oil painting that feels substantial rather than decorative or disposable.
Each canvas is painted entirely by hand with professional oil paints on artist-grade cotton canvas. No printing, giclée, or digital imaging is used at any stage, so the surface keeps the slight relief and color variation of real brushwork.
This fine art oil painting wall decor is equally at home in a residence, a boutique hotel, or a professional office. Its expressionist character makes it a safe, distinctive gift for anyone furnishing a gallery wall.
