Portrait of a Man 1661 - Rembrandt van Rijn - Entryway Wall Decor
At a Glance
Portrait of a Man 1661 - Rembrandt van Rijn - Entryway Wall Decor suits both traditional and modern interiors. As a portrait oil painting, it works as a standalone focal point or as part of an entryway gallery wall, and unlike a print it is genuinely hand painted in oils.
The Story Behind the Painting
1661
Oil on canvas
71 cm (27.95 in.) x 61 cm (24.02 in.)
The State Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg, Russia.
The figurative subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of classical oil painting wall decor.
How It Is Made
Each canvas is painted entirely by hand with professional oil paints on artist-grade cotton canvas. No printing, giclée, or digital imaging is used at any stage, so the surface keeps the slight relief and color variation of real brushwork.
