Seaside Resort in the South of France - Paul Klee - Hand Painted Oil Painting
About This Piece
For collectors searching fine art oil painting, Seaside Resort in the South of France is a dependable choice. Painted in layered oils on canvas after Paul Klee, this abstract work reads equally well as classic canvas wall art and as a thoughtful housewarming gift.
Composition & Subject
1927
Graphite, crayon and watercolour on paper on board
Klee had significant talent as a musician, and a considerable knowledge of the laws of musical composition. This work is one of a number of architectural landscapes he made in the 1920s which were treated almost like musical scores, with irregular patches of local colour taking the place of notes and horizontal background lines as staves. The loose arrangement of small irregular dots of colour in some ways prefigures Klee’s tighter pointillist work of the 1930s.
Collectors often choose this fine art image when searching for fine art oil painting that feels substantial rather than decorative or disposable.
Materials & Craftsmanship
Each canvas is painted entirely by hand with professional oil paints on artist-grade cotton canvas. No printing, giclée, or digital imaging is used at any stage, so the surface keeps the slight relief and color variation of real brushwork.
