Looking for still life oil painting with real brushwork? Still Life with Water Jug is reproduced by hand in oils on artist-grade canvas after Paul Cezanne. The result is a piece of post-impressionist oil painting wall decor that anchors a gallery wall and rewards a closer look.
1892-1893
Oil on canvas
53 cm (20.87 in.) x 71.1 cm (27.99 in.)
Tate Britain, London, United Kingdom.
This unfinished work belongs to a series of still lifes made by Cézanne in the late 1880s and early 1890s, in which he depicted plates and fruit on a table placed parallel with the picture plane.
The tall blue water jug appears in all these paintings. It was a favourite object of Cézanne's.
Collectors often choose this still life image when searching for still life oil painting that feels substantial rather than decorative or disposable.
Expect subtle, hand-made variation rather than factory uniformity. Each still life canvas is painted with oils, allowed to cure properly, and inspected before it is approved for shipment.
Wondering where still life oil painting looks best? Try a gallery wall mantel, a dining room sideboard, or a hallway gallery wall. The still life subject reads clearly from a distance and rewards close viewing up near.
Order Still Life with Water Jug as a hand painted oil painting on canvas and add lasting post-impressionist character to your gallery wall. Custom sizes, a digital proof before dispatch, and secure worldwide shipping are included.
