The Changing of the Guard at St. James's Palace - Raoul Dufy - Oil Painting for Living Room
At a Glance
Looking for fine art oil painting with real brushwork? The Changing of the Guard at St. James's Palace is reproduced by hand in oils on artist-grade canvas after Raoul Dufy. The result is a piece of fauvist oil painting wall decor that anchors a living room and rewards a closer look.
The Story Behind the Painting
La relève de la garde au palais de Saint James, 1937
gouache and watercolour on paper
The fine art subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of fauvist oil painting wall decor.
Materials & Craftsmanship
From primer to varnish, the work is done manually on artist-grade canvas. The absence of digital printing is deliberate: it keeps the fine art brushwork visible and gives the fauvist oil painting wall decor a museum-like finish.
