The Magpie by Claude Monet is one of those images that never dates. Our studio recreates it as a hand painted oil painting — textured, color-rich, and ready to hang as canvas wall art in a home office, study, or reception area.

Musée d'Orsay, Paris, France.
Claude Monet painted The Magpie in 1868. In December 1868, Monet and his family were residing on the coast of Normandy in Etretat. He did not allow the weather to confine his work to the studio and claimed to prefer the countryside in winter.
The subtle variance of shadows on the snow presented a different challenge from the sun on green grass and blue water, and, to meet it, Monet traded his usual high-keyed palette for an icy range of colors, including white, grey, and violet.
Every hand painted oil painting in this fine art series is finished on artist-grade canvas and checked against the original before it leaves the studio.
Each canvas is painted entirely by hand with professional oil paints on artist-grade cotton canvas. No printing, giclée, or digital imaging is used at any stage, so the surface keeps the slight relief and color variation of real brushwork.
This fine art oil painting wall decor is equally at home in a residence, a boutique hotel, or a professional office. Its impressionist character makes it a safe, distinctive gift for anyone furnishing a home office.
Choose your preferred canvas size at checkout, request a custom dimension, and we will email a digital proof for approval before dispatch. Worldwide delivery, free stretching on wooden bars, and a 45-Day Satisfaction Guarantee are standard on every order.
In short: The Magpie - Claude Monet - Impressionist Fine Art Reproduction combines an impressionist composition, a 100% hand painted oil painting process, and the flexibility of made-to-order canvas sizes — a dependable choice for fine art oil painting and office wall decor.
