The Meeting of Esau and Jacob - George Frederic Watts - Vintage Canvas Wall Art
About This Piece
The Meeting of Esau and Jacob by George Frederic Watts is one of those images that never dates. Our studio recreates it as a hand painted oil painting — textured, color-rich, and ready to hang as canvas wall art in a home office, study, or reception area.
Composition & Subject
circa 1865
Oil on canvas
156.5 cm (61.61 in.) x 147 cm (57.87 in.)
Salford Museum and Art Gallery, Salford, United Kingdom.
As office wall decor, the piece pairs naturally with other vintage wall art and with warm neutrals, timber, and soft natural light.
Materials & Craftsmanship
From primer to varnish, the work is done manually on artist-grade canvas. The absence of digital printing is deliberate: it keeps the fine art brushwork visible and gives the vintage oil painting wall decor a museum-like finish.
