Nothing softens an entryway like a painted surface. Field of Poppies, Argenteuil by Claude Monet arrives as a hand painted oil painting on canvas, offering the still life detail, soft gradients, and tactile finish that still life oil painting shoppers look for.

Oil on canvas
19-5/8 x 25-5/8 in
Musée d'Orsay, Paris, France.
Claude Monet painted Field of Poppies, Argenteuil in 1873. Painted in the wildflower fields outside Argenteuil, this painting reveals Monet's passion for color. With dabs of red, he scatters the blooms in a natural profusion across the lush green fields.
In the foreground, he sketches in the figures of Camille and Jean with simple strokes of violet, black, and white. Their figures appear again at the top of the hills in the distance, more a suggestion of color than an accurate record of their appearance.
As entryway wall decor, the piece pairs naturally with other impressionist wall art and with warm neutrals, timber, and soft natural light.
Each canvas is painted entirely by hand with professional oil paints on artist-grade cotton canvas. No printing, giclée, or digital imaging is used at any stage, so the surface keeps the slight relief and color variation of real brushwork.
This still life oil painting wall decor is equally at home in a residence, a boutique hotel, or a professional office. Its impressionist character makes it a safe, distinctive gift for anyone furnishing an entryway.
In short: Field of Poppies, Argenteuil - Claude Monet - Oil Painting for Entryway combines an impressionist composition, a 100% hand painted oil painting process, and the flexibility of made-to-order canvas sizes — a dependable choice for still life oil painting and entryway wall decor.
