Looking for portrait oil painting with real brushwork? Portrait of Albert VII is reproduced by hand in oils on artist-grade canvas after Peter Paul Rubens. The result is a piece of classical oil painting wall decor that anchors a gallery wall and rewards a closer look.
circa 1615
Oil on canvas
National Gallery, London, United Kingdom.
Albert VII (13 November 1559 – 13 July 1621) was the ruling Archduke of Austria for a few months in 1619 and, jointly with his wife, Isabella Clara Eugenia, sovereign of the Habsburg Netherlands between 1598 and 1621. Prior to this, he had been a cardinal, archbishop of Toledo, viceroy of Portugal and Governor General of the Habsburg Netherlands. He succeeded his brother Matthias as reigning archduke of Lower and Upper Austria, but abdicated in favor of Ferdinand II the same year, making it the shortest (and often ignored) reign in Austrian history.
Every hand painted oil painting in this figurative series is finished on artist-grade canvas and checked against the original before it leaves the studio.
Expect subtle, hand-made variation rather than factory uniformity. Each figurative canvas is painted with oils, allowed to cure properly, and inspected before it is approved for shipment.
Wondering where portrait oil painting looks best? Try a gallery wall mantel, a dining room sideboard, or a hallway gallery wall. The figurative subject reads clearly from a distance and rewards close viewing up near.
Order Portrait of Albert VII as a hand painted oil painting on canvas and add lasting classical character to your gallery wall. Custom sizes, a digital proof before dispatch, and secure worldwide shipping are included.
