Nothing softens a dining room like a painted surface. Rose Flowered Arches at Giverny by Claude Monet arrives as a hand painted oil painting on canvas, offering the still life detail, soft gradients, and tactile finish that still life oil painting shoppers look for.

Oil on canvas

Phoenix Art Museum, United States.
Claude Monet painted Flowering Arches, Giverny in 1913. To unite the flower garden in front of his house with the one across the road, Monet planted arched trellises to carry climbing roses. The flowering arches hid all traces of the nearby rail line, enclosing the water garden as a serene sanctuary cut off from the distractions of the modern world.
To paint the arches, Monet positioned his easel on the east bank of the pond to gain a broad view across the waters. Using vivid colors for the resplendent display of the roses in full bloom, Monet muted his tones to portray the shimmering reflections on the pond's glassy surface.
Collectors often choose this still life image when searching for still life oil painting that feels substantial rather than decorative or disposable.
Oil on canvas remains the reference standard for impressionist reproductions. Our artists apply pigment by hand, blending the still life tones directly on the surface for depth that a printed still life oil painting simply cannot match.
impressionist canvas wall art is one of the easiest ways to warm a dining room. Pair this piece with natural linen, dark wood, or brushed brass, and let the hand painted surface do the rest.
