Dieppe, in Normandy, attracted Monet with the romantic potential of the cliffs by the sea. But it was not only the severity and drama of the cliffs which drew him, for in the painting they seem to lose their majestic monumentality and the artist concentrates on light and air effects.
In the 1890s, the artist made particularly close study of effects of light and colour at different times of year and different times of the day, under different weather conditions and so on. An Impressionist to the core, faithful to the idea of conveying the dynamics of fleeting visual experiences, he created whole series of landscapes concentrating on one and the same motif, showing how nature changes depending on changes in the atmosphere and in the air.
Every hand painted oil painting in this seascape series is finished on artist-grade canvas and checked against the original before it leaves the studio.
Each canvas is painted entirely by hand with professional oil paints on artist-grade cotton canvas. No printing, giclée, or digital imaging is used at any stage, so the surface keeps the slight relief and color variation of real brushwork.
This seascape oil painting wall decor is equally at home in a residence, a boutique hotel, or a professional office. Its impressionist character makes it a safe, distinctive gift for anyone furnishing a dining room.
In short: Steep Cliffs near Dieppe - Claude Monet - Oil Painting combines an impressionist composition, a 100% hand painted oil painting process, and the flexibility of made-to-order canvas sizes — a dependable choice for seascape oil painting and dining room wall art.
