The Road Bridge at Argenteuil by Claude Monet is one of those images that never dates. Our studio recreates it as a hand painted oil painting — textured, color-rich, and ready to hang as canvas wall art in a hallway, study, or reception area.
1874
Oil on canvas
60 x 79.7 cm (23 5/8 x 31 3/8 in.)
National Gallery of Art - Washington, United States.
Monet settled in Argenteuil in 1871, after his return from England. Apart from minor interruptions, he stayed here 1878. He was followed to Argenteuil by Renoir, Sisley, Pissarro, and Manet. The six-year period that he spent there was a prolific one; during his first year at Argenteuil alone, he produced almost as many paintings as he had during the three previous years combined. Of the many works the artist produced during this first year, Argenteuil among them, the majority depict the Seine.
Every hand painted oil painting in this cityscape series is finished on artist-grade canvas and checked against the original before it leaves the studio.
Materials matter for impressionist wall decor. That is why this piece is built on artist-grade canvas with lightfast oil colors, applied by hand rather than output from a printer, and sealed for long-term display.
Style it over a fireplace, behind a reading chair, or along a staircase. Wherever it goes, this impressionist oil painting wall decor adds the layered color that only a hand painted canvas provides.
Whether the search term is cityscape oil painting, hallway wall art, or impressionist oil painting wall decor, this hand painted canvas delivers the same thing: a real painted surface, made to your chosen dimensions.
