Van Gogh Museum, Netherlands.
Wheat Field Under Threatening Skies, by Vincent van Gogh, was painted in 1890. With its dramatic palette, writhing brush strokes, and tall wheat stalks, Wheat Field Under Threatening Skies resonates with an air of mesmerizing turbulence. The crows, described by van Gogh in a few deft strokes of black, circle low over the crops under an ominous sky that threatens the onset of a summer storm.
Our artists reproduce this landscape composition in oil on canvas by hand, preserving the tonal range that makes landscape oil painting so sought after for a bedroom.
We use a 100% hand-painted process: stretched artist-grade canvas, layered oil pigment, and a final protective varnish. There are no inkjet prints or mechanical reproductions in this collection — just a painted landscape artwork made to order.
Build a bedroom gallery wall around this landscape oil painting, or let it stand alone as a single statement. The hand painted canvas finish keeps the landscape composition looking intentional in both classic and contemporary rooms.
