Van Gogh Museum, Netherlands.
Branches with Almond Blossom, by Vincent van Gogh, was painted in 1890 in honor of a special event in Vincent's life. On January 31, Vincent's brother Theo and his wife Johanna had a son, and they named him Vincent Willem. Vincent painted this branch of blossoming almond in celebration of the birth. The sinuous gray-green limbs and the shimmering white flowers delineate a decorative pattern against the bright blue sky, revealing Vincent van Gogh's enduring attachment to the Japanese aesthetic. The subject recalls Vincent's own hopefulness when he first arrived in Arles seeking a European counterpart to Japan.
As office wall decor, the piece pairs naturally with other post-impressionist wall art and with warm neutrals, timber, and soft natural light.
Oil on canvas remains the reference standard for post-impressionist reproductions. Our artists apply pigment by hand, blending the still life tones directly on the surface for depth that a printed still life oil painting simply cannot match.
post-impressionist canvas wall art is one of the easiest ways to warm a home office. Pair this piece with natural linen, dark wood, or brushed brass, and let the hand painted surface do the rest.
Whether the search term is still life oil painting, office wall decor, or post-impressionist oil painting wall decor, this hand painted canvas delivers the same thing: a real painted surface, made to your chosen dimensions.
