Cypresses - Vincent van Gogh - Oil Painting brings gallery-caliber art into everyday spaces. This landscape oil painting is a 100% hand painted oil painting on canvas, created for buyers who want genuine post-impressionist canvas wall art instead of a mass-produced poster or paper print.

Metropolitan Museum of Art, United States.
Vincent van Gogh painted Cypresses in 1889, within a month of his arrival at the mental asylum, when Vincent gained permission to paint in the open air. He ventured just beyond the grounds of the hospital into the groves of cypress trees that he could see from his window. Van Gogh observed them closely, explaining to his brother Theo that the trees were constantly on his mind and that as a motif they reminded him of sunflowers, "because it astonishes me that they have not been done as I see them."
Every hand painted oil painting in this landscape series is finished on artist-grade canvas and checked against the original before it leaves the studio.
Oil on canvas remains the reference standard for post-impressionist reproductions. Our artists apply pigment by hand, blending the landscape tones directly on the surface for depth that a printed landscape oil painting simply cannot match.
post-impressionist canvas wall art is one of the easiest ways to warm a hallway. Pair this piece with natural linen, dark wood, or brushed brass, and let the hand painted surface do the rest.
Whether the search term is landscape oil painting, hallway wall art, or post-impressionist oil painting wall decor, this hand painted canvas delivers the same thing: a real painted surface, made to your chosen dimensions.
