Nothing softens a bedroom like a painted surface. Irises (Getty) by Vincent van Gogh arrives as a hand painted oil painting on canvas, offering the still life detail, soft gradients, and tactile finish that still life oil painting shoppers look for.
1889
Oil on canvas

J. Paul Getty Museum, United States.
Vincent van Gogh pained Irises (Getty) in 1889, during his first month in the asylum in Saint-Rémy. Under the care of a sympathetic staff, Vincent's fears abated. His doctors recognized his need to work, and by the end of May, Vincent found it necessary to ask his brother Theo to send him more canvas and paint. He painted the irises that grew on the hospital grounds, and he assured Theo, "When you receive the canvases I have done in the garden, you will see I am not too melancholy here."
As bedroom wall art, the piece pairs naturally with other post-impressionist wall art and with warm neutrals, timber, and soft natural light.
Expect subtle, hand-made variation rather than factory uniformity. Each still life canvas is painted with oils, allowed to cure properly, and inspected before it is approved for shipment.
Wondering where still life oil painting looks best? Try a bedroom mantel, a dining room sideboard, or a hallway gallery wall. The still life subject reads clearly from a distance and rewards close viewing up near.
In short: Irises (Getty) - Vincent van Gogh - Canvas Oil Painting combines a post-impressionist composition, a 100% hand painted oil painting process, and the flexibility of made-to-order canvas sizes — a dependable choice for still life oil painting and bedroom wall art.
