Vincent van Gogh's Olive Trees with Yellow Sky and Sun was painted in 1889, when Vincent was finally allowed to leave the premises of the asylum to paint. Always believing that work in nature restored and consoled him, Vincent painted the twisting trunks of Olive Trees with Yellow Sky and Sun with dense green foliage under a yellow sun in a yellow sky, recalling the landscapes van Gogh had painted the previous year in Arles.
Collectors often choose this landscape image when searching for landscape oil painting that feels substantial rather than decorative or disposable.
Expect subtle, hand-made variation rather than factory uniformity. Each landscape canvas is painted with oils, allowed to cure properly, and inspected before it is approved for shipment.
Wondering where landscape oil painting looks best? Try a living room mantel, a dining room sideboard, or a hallway gallery wall. The landscape subject reads clearly from a distance and rewards close viewing up near.
