The Harvest - Vincent van Gogh - Hand Painted Oil Painting suits both traditional and modern interiors. As a fine art oil painting, it works as a standalone focal point or as part of a home office gallery wall, and unlike a print it is genuinely hand painted in oils.
1888, June
Oil on canvas
75 cm (29.53 in.) x 92 cm (36.22 in.)
Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Vincent van Gogh returned to his earlier panoramic approach to depict the first harvest of the year in The Harvest, which he painted in 1888.
Van Gogh's deliberate approach to spatial organization -- the crops in the foreground, the fields above, and the mountains on the high horizon -- reveals his desire to attain some of the epic grandeur Paul Cezanne achieved with similar subjects. He worked with intense focus, writing to Emile Bernard that he had seven studies in progress and felt like one of the harvesters working under the blazing sun.
The fine art subject is rebuilt stroke by stroke in oil, giving the finished canvas the depth expected of post-impressionist oil painting wall decor.
Oil on canvas remains the reference standard for post-impressionist reproductions. Our artists apply pigment by hand, blending the fine art tones directly on the surface for depth that a printed fine art oil painting simply cannot match.
post-impressionist canvas wall art is one of the easiest ways to warm a home office. Pair this piece with natural linen, dark wood, or brushed brass, and let the hand painted surface do the rest.
Whether the search term is fine art oil painting, office wall decor, or post-impressionist oil painting wall decor, this hand painted canvas delivers the same thing: a real painted surface, made to your chosen dimensions.
