Nothing softens a gallery wall like a painted surface. The Sower by Vincent van Gogh arrives as a hand painted oil painting on canvas, offering the fine art detail, soft gradients, and tactile finish that fine art oil painting shoppers look for.

E. G. Buhrle Collection, Switzerland.
In The Sower, Vincent pays homage to Millet's lone farm laborer, using a Japanese-inspired composition and the hot palette of the blazing Provencal sun. He described the work to Theo as "a big field with clods of violet earth—climbing toward the horizon... a sower... Over it all a yellow sky with a yellow sun" (Letter 501). Vincent viewed the sower as a symbol of rural work, of the noble endeavor which sustains life.
Every hand painted oil painting in this fine art series is finished on artist-grade canvas and checked against the original before it leaves the studio.
This is a genuine hand painted oil painting, not a canvas print. Our painters match the palette of The Sower by eye and build up the fine art forms in thin layers, which is what gives the finished fine art oil painting its luminosity.
Hang this fine art oil painting above a sofa, console, or bed to give a gallery wall an instant focal point. Its post-impressionist palette works with both minimalist and period interiors, and the piece also makes a considered gift for housewarmings, weddings, and art lovers.
In short: The Sower - Vincent van Gogh - Post-Impressionist Canvas Wall Art combines a post-impressionist composition, a 100% hand painted oil painting process, and the flexibility of made-to-order canvas sizes — a dependable choice for fine art oil painting and gallery wall art.
