Van Gogh Museum, Netherlands.
In Vincent van Gogh's 1888 work The Yellow House, the palette of yellow and blue -- Vincent van Gogh's signature colors -- expressed his deep feelings for his little house and the fellowship of artists that he hoped would gather there.
The exterior of the house was, in fact, painted a yellow that he associated with the pale, fresh hue of butter, but in The Yellow House van Gogh intensified its hue and depicted it against a bright cerulean sky. Vincent van Gogh often commented on the sunny quality of the surrounding square, and the bright yellow tones he used enforce this sensation.
As hallway wall art, the piece pairs naturally with other post-impressionist wall art and with warm neutrals, timber, and soft natural light.
Each canvas is painted entirely by hand with professional oil paints on artist-grade cotton canvas. No printing, giclée, or digital imaging is used at any stage, so the surface keeps the slight relief and color variation of real brushwork.
This fine art oil painting wall decor is equally at home in a residence, a boutique hotel, or a professional office. Its post-impressionist character makes it a safe, distinctive gift for anyone furnishing a hallway.
Order Vincent's House in Arles (The Yellow House) as a hand painted oil painting on canvas and add lasting post-impressionist character to your hallway. Custom sizes, a digital proof before dispatch, and secure worldwide shipping are included.
